Threadquarters – Textile Interventions for Digital Democracy

How can we foster democratic conversation in an age of online radicalisation, polarisation, and shrinking public discourse? In this workshop, we aim to translate digital phenomena such as memes, slogans, symbols, or viral trends into tangible, analogue encounters that encourage reflection, dialogue, and critical thinking.

This workshop serves as a test case to explore the practicality and impact of Threadquarters’ methods, while further developing them based on these insights. We warmly invite anyone interested in artistically led strategies that foster reflection, dialogue, and critical thinking to join us.

About Threadquarters: Threadquarters, initiated by Katharina Spitz and Threads & Tits, is an artistic research project investigating how playful, artistic and textile-based approaches can strengthen agency for democratic discource amidst online radicalisation.
